Hello! I’m Suzy Cooper from Sidecar Studio.
I’ve been a communications consultant since the early 2000s, applying my straight-talking pragmatism and good humour to jobs involving business process analysis for software implementations, wrangling enormous documents for huge corporations, running workshops to gather system requirements and writing documents on the spot, technical writing to explain how to use computer systems, training delivery, change management and writing engaging copy for web and social media.
I’m a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a board member, and a former alderman, so I understand the challenges of communicating to decision-makers. My Bachelor of Science (with Honours) gave me a good grounding in logic and a respect for research.
I love demystifying difficult concepts and displaying ideas graphically during meetings, so everyone can contribute and feel heard. I also work as an editor, writing coach and creativity coach. I learned a lot in previous roles tutoring adults in literacy programs and English programs for speakers of other languages.
If you need a speaker or facilitator, I have skills as a former stand-up comic along with speaking, MCing and group facilitation skills. I enjoy teaching people how to improve their speaking skills so they can feel more comfortable while getting their message across.
Personal branding can help you to look current, credible and eminently worth listening to. I can also update all of your online profiles and other words you use to promote yourself so you sound as good as you look.
If you need a creative but logical approach to your corporate communications, I can bring you systems thinking combined with creative methods and novel ideas from unexpected places. I enjoy demystifying scientific, technical and tricky subjects so the information gets to the right people.
I’m based in Hobart, Australia, and available to work virtually anywhere.
